Niels Larsen Trophy Summer Edition - we start the hockey season with a real boom while ending the summer in the best possible way: with ice hockey, friends and an unforgettable weekend in Halmstad.

In August, summer is still in full swing on the Swedish west coast. With any luck, you can expect sunny days, warm evenings and the perfect mix of hockey, beach life and partying.

The Niels Larsen Trophy is more than just a tournament - it's a hockey weekend where teams from Sweden and other countries come together to play amateur ice hockey, socialise and experience one of Sweden's most classic summer cities.

Halmstad is known for its fantastic beaches, and just a few minutes from the arena is Tylösand, one of Sweden's most famous beaches with several kilometres of soft sand, beach bars and magical sunsets over the sea. So after the matches, swim, hang out on the beach and enjoy an ice-cold beer in the sun.

For those who want to combine the hockey weekend with other activities, here are also some of Sweden's best golf courses, which has given Halmstad the nickname The golf capital of Sweden. For those who want to play golf, we recommend early arrival Thursday and / or late departure Sunday, of course it is also possible to book extra hotel nights for those who want to stay longer!

And when evening comes, the experience continues in a city that is also known as the home of Per Gessle and Roxette, where music, restaurants and nightlife add to the special summer atmosphere that has made Halmstad a favourite destination for visitors from all over Europe.

Who can participate in the Niels Larsen Trophy?

The Niels Larsen Trophy is a tournament for those who have NOT played ice hockey at Elite level.

If you have played ice hockey in a club that is subject to Elite Licence requirements you must not have been active for at least 5 years.

For other players, the requirement is that no player may have played in any Series or been active in a Series-playing team for 24 months or more.

We make absolutely NO exceptions to this rule.

Team fee: 5,900kr (€590)
This must be paid within 10 days after we have received & confirmed your application.
(€100 of the team fee will go to the Children's Ward at Halmstad Hospital)

This fee is NOT refundable in the event that your team cancels.
