You can be as many as you want in your team, but you must be at least 10 players + goalkeeper. (i.e. 11p in total)
If players drop out of the tournament for any reason, they may not be replaced during the tournament
No player may participate in more than one (1) team
Offside is applied as usual.
Icing is not applied
Games are played 1 x 25min with rolling time.
The clock is stopped only in case of injury or penalty shot
Penalties are applied, the penalty time is 1min from the release of the puck
The ranking is determined according to the following order
1. points
2. Mutual meetings
3. goal difference
4. Most goals scored
Ties result in 1p for each team. In case of a tie in the final game, first 5min Sudden Death is played, then penalty shots are applied, if the result is still tied after 3 penalty rounds, Sudden Death is also applied.
In the event of an altercation between players, these players must leave the stadium immediately and are not allowed to participate in the rest of the tournament.
If any player argues with the referee, these players must leave the stadium immediately and are not allowed to participate in the rest of the tournament.
What constitutes a disturbance is assessed by the Niels Larsen Trophy management in consultation with referees according to the situation at hand - we have zero tolerance for violence and this can in the worst case lead to disqualification of the entire team.
We also take any arguments with judges very seriously.
No, tackles of any kind are prohibited in the Niels Larsen Trophy.
Slap shots are not allowed.
The definition of a slap shot is when a player lifts the stick off the ice above knee height and shoots the puck
All players must wear full protective equipment according to the Swedish Hockey Federation rules. The equipment must be worn correctly.
This includes neck protection & visor
Players who do not fulfil these requirements may leave the ice immediately and only enter it after obtaining the missing equipment.
It does not pay to be slow to puckdrop or otherwise delay the game.
Referees release the puck at a fast pace, regardless of whether players are present or not.

Teams 1-2 in each table play semi-finals that can lead to the final or 3rd or 4th place
Semi-final 1: Team 1 Group 1 vs Team 2 Group 2
Semi-final 2: Team 2 Group 1 vs Team 1 Group 2
Semi loser plays for 3rd or 4th place
teams 3-6 play placement matches according to table position in the respective table
3 against 3 playing for place 5 or 6
4 against 4 playing for place 7 or 8
5 against 5 playing for place 9 or 10
6 against 6 playing for place 11 or 12
The Niels Larsen Trophy is a tournament for those who have NOT played ice hockey at Elite level.
If you have played ice hockey in a club that is subject to Elite Licence requirements you must not have been active for at least 5 years.
For other players, the requirement is that no player may have played in any Series or been active in a Series-playing team for 24 months or more.
We make absolutely NO exceptions to this rule.
