The hockey season is drawing to a close – but before we put our sticks away for the spring, one last proper hockey weekend remains.

Niels Larsen Trophy – Winter Sendoff bringing together amateur teams from Sweden and Europe in Halmstad for a weekend packed with ice hockey, team spirit, partying and everything else that makes a hockey trip with the team worth remembering.

In March the hockey season is still in full swing and Halmstad Arena is ready. It is simply the right time to gather the team, head off on a final trip and finish the winter together both on and off the ice.

The tournament is, after all, about considerably more than the results. It is about the journey with the team, the dressing room, new opponents, old acquaintances and the stories that live on long after the final whistle has blown.

And when today's matches are finished, the weekend continues.

Halmstad has a wide range of restaurants, pubs and bars within a convenient distance from both the arena and hotels. Add our Players Party, good food and a few cold ones together with teams from several different countries – that's a pretty good way to wrap up the hockey winter.

Because that is precisely what Winter Sendoff That's it. One last proper hockey weekend before the season is over.

Distance to the ice rink: 1km

This hotel is within walking distance of the ice rink and town centre. There are also electric scooters to hire and the bus runs several times an hour right outside the door.

Our Classic Twin rooms are 21 m² and have two comfortable Carpe Diem beds, 90 cm wide, and a bathroom with rain shower. Coffee and tea making facilities, TV, WiFi, air-conditioning, safety box, small fridge, dumbbells and free mineral water are available in all our rooms.

Distance to the ice rink: 3km

We recommend that you have a car or other means of transport if you choose this hotel, as the ice rink and town centre are not within walking distance. However, the bus runs regularly and there are electric scooters available for hire.

Our Good Morning Twin Room has two 80 cm beds, so two people can stay in this cosy room. A TV and desk are available in all our rooms, as well as a bathroom with shower.

We have participated in the Niels Larsen Trophy for the past 10 years and we consider it the highlight of the year! Always well organised with a very friendly atmosphere and a Players' Party where everyone feels included. We also like the added benefits such as photography and give-aways in the changing rooms. The food is usually superb!

Register your team

Who can participate in the Niels Larsen Trophy?

The Niels Larsen Trophy is a tournament for those who have NOT played ice hockey at Elite level.

If you have played ice hockey in a club that is subject to Elite Licence requirements you must not have been active for at least 5 years.

For other players, the requirement is that no player may have played in any Series or been active in a Series-playing team for 24 months or more.

We make absolutely NO exceptions to this rule.

Team fee: 5,900kr (€590)
This must be paid within 10 days after we have received & confirmed your application.
(€100 of the team fee will go to the Children's Ward at Halmstad Hospital)

This fee is NOT refundable in the event that your team cancels.
