Niels Larsen Trophy 2027 gets new dates – welcome to Winter Sendoff

The Niels Larsen Trophy is back in Halmstad in 2027 – but earlier than planned. The Spring Edition is being moved to 11–14 March and becomes the Niels Larsen Trophy: Winter Sendoff. Four days filled with hockey, community and everything else that happens when the matches are over.

Spring Edition becomes Winter Sendoff

The Niels Larsen Trophy – Spring Edition was originally scheduled for 29 April–2 May 2027. Following an inspection of Halmstad Arena, it has been established that the refrigeration system and the concrete slab beneath the ice need to undergo extensive renovation starting from week 14.

That is why we are moving the tournament to 11–14 March 2027.

And while we're right in the middle of winter's end, we thought the tournament deserved a new name.

More than just a hockey tournament

The Niels Larsen Trophy is an international amateur and veteran team tournament for those who still love hockey – but also think that what happens off the ice is at least as important.

Here the weekend is all about great matches, new acquaintances and socialising with ice hockey players from other teams and countries.

On the ice we play to win.

Off the ice, we do it together.

Ice hockey, Halmstad and Players' Party

Winter Sendoff retains the full experience of the Niels Larsen Trophy.

This means several days of ice hockey at Halmstad Arena combined with food, drinks, community and our Players Party, where the players get the chance to meet even without helmet and gloves.

The idea is simple: you should be able to come to Halmstad as a hockey team and go home with considerably more memories than just the results from the matches.

Same tournament. Same experience. Just a little earlier in the year.

Moreover, March is a pretty perfect time for a hockey weekend.

The season is starting to draw to a close, but there is still plenty of hockey left in the legs. Winter Sendoff will therefore be a chance to gather the team for one last, really good hockey trip before spring takes over.
